Hello Family & Friends!

Thank you for being a part of our special day.  All of you are invited to our wedding for a reason.  It means each of you have been a significant part of our lives in some way as individuals and/or as a part of our path now as a couple.  We truly love you; place that sentiment into your hearts and keep it there.

You represent our memories:  childhood, our school days, crazy college times, career paths, raising our families, communities we lived in, the greatest times and life events, overcoming the lowest moments, the renewal and new interests, and the beginning of the senior season of our lives.  We just want to start this journey enjoying one another, laughing out loud with you.

We are thankful and so excited about getting married. Most of all we're overjoyed about spending the rest of our lives together. Some of you may already know the two of us have shared parallel lives along the way. Though separate and unknowing; we have been on the same path to discovery all along. It actually started with elementary school; we both arrived as one of the new kids in 6th grade. Later, we completed three more years in junior high school. Then again three years later, we strolled into the same high school - still clueless about the other. Upon graduation, we both went on to live our different lives through jobs, marriages, raising families and class reunions decade after decade…and after all of that, we barely knew or could describe one another. So you have to know like we know, this union was God sent, through all the failures, success and especially now. We both have a passion for living and a strong sense of humor that keeps us going. We can find something to smile about in the most challenging of situations.

Speaking of which, we’re having rip-roaring laughs right now. That’s because planning a wedding at this point in life has to be the biggest mind bender of all. As a result, we created this website to keep all of us with challenged memories on point. So everybody…let’s look forward to having a blast, doing our favorite line dance on July 10th! We're keeping it cute, colorful and cool on the coast…with a relaxed island theme. There will be more details as the days go by. Stay tuned to the wedding website, we'll keep you posted.

And…know that we are thankful to God Almighty everyday (from the depths our hearts) for being able to stand and appreciate these abundant blessings in our lives.

- With love, Daphane and Larry

Accommodations

As you may know, summer in Santa Barbara is absolutely stunning! Housing accommodations go up, only to increase as time moves on. Please book as early as possible. However, the great thing is there are many options to choose from; it is truly a resort town:  hotels, motels, rental homes, bed and breakfast, condos, single rooms, new hostels and R.V. sites on the beach. Most accept AAA, AARP and other discounts. Some of you may want to reserve a rental home to accommodate large numbers and chip in to cover cost. There are neighboring cities too like Goleta, Montecito and Carpinteria that are close to the venue and other popular area attractions. No matter your choice, we trust you will make the best housing decision by doing your own research as well.

Below we listed a few sites we contacted that are close enough to the venue, daytime activities, and the robust nightlife of State Street. At some locations, we were able to do a little advance price (per-night) negotiation on rates. So enjoy the discovery and let us know if you come across a great deal to share. We’ll post it on the wedding website.

*UPDATE 7/1 -We have one King reserved room available at the Harbor House Inn.  It is just a half block from the beach.  It is for Friday and Saturday night $255.00 per night.  We also have one King room at Pacifica Suites, It is a very nice updated two room suite with breakfast included.  It is for Friday and Saturday night, $255.00 per night.

Please let us know immediately if you need either room.  I will be canceling these reservations on Thursday July 2, 2015, by noon.  You can email poingsett@yahoo.com or text me at (213) 884-8536.

AirBNB

www.airbnb.com

Airbnb is a great option to rent rooms and entire houses from local residents. The cost tends to be much cheaper than a hotel since you are paying for the space and not all the amenities that a hotel typically offers.
